- As the former Web Manager for Canyons School District, I was responsible for setting up and maintaining the district websites, 45 school websites, and district social media channels. My focus was on innovating and improving both internal and external communications. I was a catalyst in ensuring the implementation and use of cutting-edge technologies to enhance the district’s online presence and its connection with the community.
Working in the Communications office, I brought my experience in website design, graphic design, communication technology, videography, video editing, social media, and online public relations to the table.
I played a key role in helping Canyons School District receive a Sunny Award for having one of the most transparent government websites in the nation. Along with my team, we graded more than 7,000 governmental websites nationwide based on Sunshine Review’s 10-point Transparency Checklist. Only 1,000 websites earned a top grade on the 2013 Transparency Report Card and had a chance at receiving a Sunny Award. Prior to receiving the Sunny Award, Canyons School District received an A+ on the Sunshine Review, and it was the only school district among Utah’s 10 largest to receive this rating. Utah school districts received an average B grade. Nationally, only 20 percent of school districts received a grade of B or higher. As the former Web Manager for Canyons School District, I was responsible for setting up and maintaining the district websites, 45 school websites, and district social media channels.
